Almost €700,000 approved for Coiste Ionad Cuimhneacháin na nImirceach, Carna by Minister of State Kyne
Minister of State for the Gaeltacht, Seán Kyne T.D., announced today that he has approved a grant of €699,342 for Coiste Ionad Cuimhneacháin na nImirceach, Carna to enable them to build a community centre in Carna called Ionad Cuimhneacháin na nImirceach.
Announcing the grant the Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne T.D., said that he was very pleased to be in a position to help this Committee to build a centre which will serve as both a community and tourist facility. “I believe that the centre will greatly add to Iorras Aintheach and will become a hub for experiencing the culture of the area while highlighting the outstanding natural beauty of Iorras Aintheach. It is also important that Ionad Cuimhneacháin na nImirceach will be an attraction along the Wild Atlantic Way, where tourists can experience our native language and the traditional music, song, dance, folklore and storytelling that is plentiful in Iorras Aintheach”, said the Minister of State.
