Moore Street Consultative Group
The Moore Street Consultative Group has been set up by the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. It membership includes representatives of the 1916 Relatives Association and of the two Moore Street 1916 relatives organisations, the Moore Street Traders Association, Dublin City Councillors nominated by the Lord Mayor as well as Members of Dáil Éireann nominated by the Ceann Comhairle.
The Minister has asked the Consultative Group to provide its view on the best way forward for Moore Street and what can be done to retain its historic character and to reflect the part it played in the events of Easter 1916.
In pursuit of its broad mandate the Group has decided to:
• agree the range of relevant topics needing to be examined
• secure input from official agencies, as required, on matters having a bearing on, or implications for, any proposals being considered by the Group
• secure attendance by other interested parties and relevant experts to assist the Group in its deliberations
• provide an agreed final report with recommendations to the Minster.
