05/03/2015: Minister Humphreys announces details of North/South funding scheme for arts and culture projects
The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, today announced details of a funding scheme to support arts and culture projects on a North/South basis.
Projects funded under the scheme must have a clear North/South element and should seek to make a contribution to enhancing, celebrating or commemorating the artistic, cultural, musical, or film heritage of the whole island of Ireland.
In announcing details of the Scheme, Minister Humphreys said:
“I am delighted that this scheme of funding is again taking place in 2015. We have a wonderful culture of artistry, music, film and heritage on the island of Ireland. This funding scheme aims to help to enhance, to celebrate and to commemorate this across the entire country. I would encourage anyone interested in the scheme to check out the eligibility criteria and submit an application without delay.”
Projects should be creative and innovative and examples of projects which could be considered for funding under the scheme include, but are not limited to, projects which:
- Promote co-operation and joint initiatives between organisations and institutions on a North/South basis;
- Promote cultural tourism on a North/South basis;
- Promote the provision of cultural outreach programmes on a North/South basis.
Applications for funding are invited from all interested cultural bodies. Funding can only be awarded to projects which meet all relevant criteria. Full details on the 2015 Co-operation with Northern Ireland funding scheme are available on the Department’s website at:
The closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday 31st March 2015.
