15/05/2014 Minister Deenihan announces funding under 2014 Scheme to promote co-operation with Northern Ireland
Thursday, May 15th – Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, has announced details of the successful applicants in the Co-operation with Northern Ireland Scheme 2014.
The Co-operation with Northern Ireland Scheme support Projects which seek to enhance, celebrate or commemorate the artistic, cultural, musical, film or heritage of the Island of Ireland on a North/South basis.
Applications were invited for projects that that helped to:
- Promote co-operation and joint initiatives between organisations and institutions on a North/South basis;
- Promote cultural tourism on a North/South basis;
- Promote the provision of cultural outreach programmes on a North/South basis.
8 projects have been awarded total funding of €170,000 following the assessment of applications carried out by the Department. The successful projects are quite varied and will appeal to everyone both young and old.
Minister Deenihan commented:
“I am delighted to announce the allocations under the Co-operation with Northern Ireland funding Scheme for 2014. This year’s allocations cover everything from film to art to music and will be well received all across the Island of Ireland. I wish all of those who participate as part of these projects well and I thank those whose ingenuity and creativity have made these projects possible.”
