17/11/2014 : €36,000 sanctioned by Minister of State McHugh for Coiste Ionad Tacaíochta Teaghlaigh Iarthar Dhuibhneach
Monday, 17th November 2014—Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh T.D., announced today that he has sanctioned a grant of €36,000 for Coiste Ionad Tacaíochta Iarthar Dhuibhneach, Baile an Fheirtéaraigh, Co. Chiarraí to enable them to purchase equipment for the family support service in the newly-built centre in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh. This grant is in addition to another grant of €1,7456, 765 sanctioned by the Department in 2013 to facilitate the building of the Development Centre in cooperation with Údarás na Gaeltachta.
Announcing the grant, Minister of State McHugh said that he was delighted to sanction the grant. ‘It is very timely that the work on this new centre is being completed just as a language plan for the area is to be implemented. This wonderful, modern facility and the support which will be available in it, will be of great assistance to the area and in particular to young couples who are raising their children through Irish. I am pleased to be in a position to support this pioneering and active committee and I wish them the best of luck in their work.’
