18/03/2015 : Placenames Order (County Mayo)
18th March 2015—In preparation for the making of a Placenames Order by the Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh TD, in respect of the Irish language versions of the placenames of County Mayo, a draft of the proposed order has been published by the Placenames Committee. The Irish versions of the placenames are based on research undertaken by the Placenames Branch in the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Before providing the Minister of State with definitive advice about the draft order, the Placenames Committee wishes to afford the public the opportunity to comment on it.
