19/04/12 – Minister McGinley visits Áras Chois Fharraige

Today  (Thursday 19th April 2012), the Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Dinny McGinley T.D. paid a visit to Áras Chois Fharraige in An Spidéal .
During his visit, Minister McGinley met with residents of the facility and presented a number of staff who are currently learning Irish with the Fáinne and the ‘Cúpla Focal’ emblem.  The Minister said he was very taken with the amount of Irish to be heard at the facility among staff and residents alike and praised the staff for the extra effort they were making to assist those in their later years feel comfortable hearing their native language.
The Minister of State also congratulated the facility’s management for the friendly atmosphere evident at the Áras, where it was clear to see that a genuine warmness existed between residents and existed and staff.
