24/04/2014: Minister Deenihan opens Margaret Corcoran Exhibition at Solstice Gallery in Navan

Thursday, 24 April, 2014: Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht,  will this evening at 7.30 p.m. open the Margaret Corcoran Exhibition at Solstice Arts Centre Gallery, Navan, Co MeathThis exhibition is part of Solstice’s Visual Arts Programme which features on average seven exhibitions annually, of both local and national artists. Margaret Corcoran and Belinda Quirke have been working together to produce this exhibition for over a year, which marks a change in scope and scale for the artist.

Prior to the event, Minister Deenihan commented:

There is something intensely personal about Margaret’s style that makes her paintings easily identifiable. This exhibition reflects Margaret’s skills and vision and celebrates her uniqueness as an artist. Margaret, through her work, explores her environment, issues of importance to her and communicates her thinking to us.  This exhibition also provides an opportunity to show the wider community how important arts are in today’s world.  I have no doubt that this magnificent exhibition will receive many visitors over its duration here at the Solstice and I wish it every success.
