28/06/2013 – Minister Deenihan signs MOU with Kerry Education Services

Friday 28th June, 2013; Jimmy Deenihan TD Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht signed an agreement that will continue the valuable association between Killarney National Park and the Kerry Education Services (KES) who operate the Killarney National Park Education Centre (KNPEC).

The Education Centre which is based at Knockreer House in Killarney National Park offers a variety of field ecology courses to a wide range of people and has been operated by the Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre of Co Kerry VEC, since 1998.

The Minister acknowledged the excellent work of Kerry Education Services (KES) and said “This long standing and close association between Killarney National Park and the Kerry Education Services has proven to be mutually beneficial as well as being of huge benefit to the many people in Kerry and further afield who have availed of this excellent service over the years.   This new agreement affords the opportunity for even greater collaboration and cooperation between the two organizations and for more efficient and effective use of their combined resources with a view to the further development of the services provided at Killarney National Park Education Centre.”
