A grant of up to €27,814 has been sanctioned by Minister of State Kyne for all-weather sports facilities in Na Déise, Co. Waterford
Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Seán Kyne TD announced today, (30 November 2018), that he has sanctioned a grant of up to €27,814 or 80% of the complete cost, whichever is lesser to Comhar Spóirt na nDéise, Co. Waterford to build all-weather sport facilities.
The funding has been sanctioned to Comhar Spóirt na nDéise to prepare the site, to build playing fields, to develop an entrance and to complete other work.
“I am very happy to sanction this grant to Comhar Spóirt na nDéise,” said Minister of State Kyne. “Comhlucht Forbartha na nDéise has established this subcommittee to focus on this worthy project and it has done magnificent work to date. There is an active community in the area which undertakes projects such as this in order to promote the language and in order to ensure that the undertakings in Plean Teanga na nDéise are successfully implemented.”
This grant has been sanctioned in accordance with the pledge given in the Community and Language Supports Programme under act 2.22 of the Government’s Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish language which was launched in June 2018.
