REQUEST FOR SUBMISSIONS – OFFICIAL LANGUAGES ACT 2003

Preparation of a draft language scheme by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht

The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht proposes to draft a language scheme in accordance with the Official Languages Act 2003. The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.

The Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht invites submissions in relation to the preparation of the draft scheme from any interested parties.

Please note that submissions received will be published on this website

This Scheme has been confirmed by the Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs and has effect from 12 May 2016. It will remain in force for a period of 3 years from this date or until a new Scheme has been confirmed by the Minister under section 15 of the Official Languages Act.
