Dr Annie Doona appointed Chair designate of the Irish Film Board

The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Heather Humphreys TD, has nominated Dr Annie Doona as Chair designate of the Irish Film Board for the period until the completion of the term of the present Board in January 2017.

Dr Doona was appointed as a member of the Board in January 2013 and has been Acting Chair since the untimely death of Bill O’Herlihy in May 2015.  Her formal appointment will be made after her appearance before the relevant Oireachtas Committee.

Dr Doona is a graduate of the University of Sheffield and achieved her Doctorate in Education in the School of Continuing Education at the University of Nottingham.  She is President of the Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Dun Laoghaire.
