€25,000 grant sanctioned for Baile Mhúirne Cultural Centre
Joe McHugh T.D., Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, announced today (Thursday, 21st December 2017) that he has sanctioned a grant of up to €25,000 for Baile Mhúirne Cultural Centre to enable them to employ a Manager from 1 November 2017 until 31 October 2018.
The Minister of State said: “I am pleased to be in a position to provide this grant. Great work is being done in this centre to promote and stimulate interest in the arts in the Múscraí community by providing classes, concerts, exhibitions and workshops. We are greatly indebted to them and to the teachers employed by them. This is a worthwhile measure which shows my Department’s commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the 20-Year Strategy for the Irish Language.”
