The Placenames Committee (An Coiste Logainmneacha) intends to advise the Minister of State with responsibility for Gaeilge, Gaeltacht and the Islands, Sean Kyne, T.D., to declare by order the Irish language version of the placenames of County Sligo.
Before giving its advice, the Committee wishes to receive recommendations from the public regarding the draft order, including the Irish versions. The Committee is publishing a draft of the proposed order so that the public has an opportunity to study it.

The Irish versions in the draft order are based on the work of the Placenames Branch in the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. The recommendations will be considered in advance of advice being provided to the Minister of State with regard to the placenames order.
Recommendations should be sent in written submission form to the Placenames Branch, Joyce House, 8–11 Lombard Street East, Dublin 2, or by e-mail to email@example.com to arrive no later than 31st July 2019.
The public consultation period on the draft placenames orders for counties Laois, Galway, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Carlow and Wexford is now over. All recommendations received from the public have been examined by the Placenames Committee and the Placenames Orders for these counties will be signed by the Minister of State with responsibility for Gaeilge, Gaeltacht and the Islands, Sean Kyne, T.D. in due course.
