Good news for Tearmann Éanna Ltd in Conamara
Importance of the Gaeltacht community project recognised by Minister of State Seán Kyne
A grant of over €10,000 for Tearmann Éanna Ltd, An Tulach, Baile na hAbhann, County Galway has been approved by Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands Seán Kyne TD.
The funding will enable them to renovate and update their clubhouse.
Tearmann Éanna has welcomed the grant approved by Minister of State Seán Kyne TD. Manager Peigí Uí Chéidigh stated, “This funding will greatly contribute to the services provided by Tearmann Éanna to people in Conamara who are getting older”.
The Government Chief-Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands Seán Kyne T.D. has announced today, 5 April, that he has approved an allowance of up €10,567 or 80% of the total cost, whichever is the lesser, for Tearmann Éanna Teo to enable them to equip their office to have the capacity to provide high-quality level training.
During his announcement, the Minister of State said that he was happy to approve this grant for Tearmann Éanna CTR. This grant is a recognition of the satisfactory work being done on a continuous basis within the organisation, and it is an important project in terms of the Irish Language and culture in general.
This allowance is being permitted in accordance with the commitment made as part of the Community and Language Supports Programme under action 2.22 of the Government’s Irish Language Action Plan 2018-2022, which was launched in June 2018.
