Grant of €25,000 sanctioned by Minister of State McHugh for Coláiste na bhFiann
Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh T.D., is pleased to announce that a capital grant of €25,000 has been approved for Coláiste na bhFiann for the installation of a new electrical system in Ionad Óige na hÉireann in Co. Meath. This brings to €190,151 the total funding approved by the Minister’s Department for the refurbishment of the Ionad Óige from 2013 to date.
Ionad Óige na hÉireann is an all-Irish centre based in Drumree, Co. Meath which is run by Coláiste na bhFiann. The centre creates natural opportunities for young people to use Irish outside of the educational system and in their social lives.
“I am delighted to be in a position to support an tIonad Óige, where fun events such as music, art, dance, theatre and sports are held to encourage the students to use their Irish,” said Minister of State McHugh when announcing the grant.
