Grant of up to €9,608 was approved by Minister of State Kyne for Fanad United F.C. to carry out various works at the park
Seán Kyne TD, Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands announced today that he has allowed a grant of up to €9,608 or 80% of the total cost, whichever is the lesser, to go to Fanad United to carry out various works at their park at Traigh-a-Loch, Fanad, Co. Donegal.
As part of the work proposed by the society, a new roof will be placed on the stand; new benches will be built for the teams and a new surface will be put on the car park.
“I am delighted to be able to allow a grant to this club,” said Minister of State Kyne. “Fanad United, now on the scene for over forty years, is an ambitious club. They have won the intermediate cup twice – the only club in Donegal successful in doing so. I hope this funding will help them to provide high quality facilities for the area. ”
The grant is being sanctioned in accordance with the commitment given in relation to the Community and Language Supports Programme under Action 2.22 of the Government’s Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish Language, launched in June 2018.
