Grant sanctioned by Minister of State Kyne for the Edcite as Gaeilge project

Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne T.D., today announced that he has sanctioned an additional grant of €3,721 for the Edcite as Gaeilge project to enable them to further develop the project.  The project is being run by Camara Ireland.

Edcite is an online platform that provides teachers with online tools to find, customise and create education lessons for their pupils.  The objective of the Edcite as Gaeilge project is to translate the Edcite site to Irish to enable teachers who teach in Irish to use the site in the classroom.

Announcing the grant, the Minister of State said: “The Edcite as Gaeilge project is very important and it greatly enhances the availability of educational courses online through Irish. I’m delighted to provide this assistance to create a digital resource for primary and post-primary school teachers who are teaching through Irish and to give them the opportunity to design lessons online for their pupils.”

This funding is being provided under the 20-Year Strategy for the Irish Language 2010-2030.
