Temporary Head Guide
The National Parks and Wildlife Service of the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
- Temporary Head Guide
These are temporary seasonal roles based in:
- Ballycroy National Park
- Burren National Park
- Clara Bog Nature Reserve, Co. Offaly
Staff will be required to work 39 hours per week, rostered five days over seven, which may include weekends and bank holidays.
Depending on the location of the vacancy; the contract dates and durations will differ so some interviews may be held sooner than others.
The weekly salary of a Head Guide (before tax) is as follows (1st September 2019 rates):
Personal Pension Contribution (PPC)
€459.64, €489.70, €497.36, €512.26, €534.25, €556.20, €578.15, €594.14, €615.29, €636.43, €651.30, €672.23, €693.04, €725.47, €750.98, €762.67
Non Personal Pension Contribution (Non PPC)
€437.63, €466.21, €473.45, €494.60, €508.53, €529.41, €550.25, €571.13, €586.10, €606.39, €626.45, €640.34, €660.13, €690.94, €715.19, €726.34
There is also an allowance of €65.45 gross payable per week in addition to the above salary.
The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
Appointees will be chosen by competitive interview. A panel of suitable candidates may also be formed should any additional vacancies arise in the foreseeable future.
