Temporary Visitor Guide – The Burren National Park, Coole Park and Dromore Woods Nature Reserve
The National Parks and Wildlife Service of the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
- Temporary Visitor Guide
These is a temporary seasonal roles based in the Mid-West Region (The Burren National Park, Coole Park and Dromore Woods Nature Reserve). Staff may be required to work between the three sites.
Staff will be required to work 39 hours per week, rostered five days over seven, which may include weekends and bank holidays.
The weekly salary of a Guide (before tax) is as follows (1st January 2019 rates):
Personal Pension Contribution (PPC)

Non Personal Pension Contribution (Non PPC)
€430.10, €458.19, €465.31, €486.09, €499.78, €520.30, €540.79, €561.31, €576.02, €595.96, €615.68, €629.33, €648.78, €679.06, €702.89, €713.85
The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
Appointees will be chosen by competitive interview. A panel of suitable candidates may also be formed should any additional vacancies arise in the foreseeable future.
A full, clean driving licence is essential to the post of Temporary Visitor Guide.
