Temporary Visitor Guides, Ballycroy National Park
The National Parks and Wildlife Service of the Department of Arts, Heritage Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs is looking for enthusiastic people for the coming 2016 visitor season.
Duties will include working at the Visitor Centre and may include leading guided walks and helping in outdoor programmes and events. Experience in guiding, effective communication and teamwork are essential. A current First Aid qualification and a full, clean driving licence are also essential.
These are temporary positions which may arise in 2016. The post will be primarily based at Ballycroy National Park, Co. Mayo. Staff will be required to work up to 39 hours per week, rostered five days over seven which may include weekends and bank holidays.
The salary of a Visitor Guide currently starts at €419.29 per week before tax. The rate of remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy.
The appointees will be chosen by competitive interview. A panel of suitable candidates may also be formed should any additional vacancies arise in the foreseeable future.
