Minister of State for Regional Economic Development, Michael Ring T.D congratulates Muckross House and Gardens and Glenveagh National Park on winning Awards of Excellence for 2016 at the Annual CIE Tours Award Ceremony

Michael Ring T.D., Minister of State for Regional Economic Development at the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, today (21st February) congratulated Muckross House and Gardens, and Glenveagh National Park, on receiving an Award of Excellence from CIE Tours.

The Minister said “I am delighted that the outstanding experiences at both Muckross House and Gardens, and Glenveagh National Park were recognised at the awards at City Hall yesterday evening”.

The Minister continued “the award is presented to attractions for consistently exceeding CIE clients’ expectations.  Most importantly the winners are chosen by independent evaluation. In effect these are people’s choice awards. They reflect the quality and uniqueness of Ireland’s National Park product.”

Minister Ring concluded “The Muckross House experience is enhanced by the surrounding Killarney National Park and I wish to pay credit to all involved including the trustees but especially the guides and reception staff for maintaining such a high standard in consistently providing a warm and friendly experience to all visitors. Glenveagh National Park is Ireland’s second largest National Park and is renowned for its Castle its gardens and its wonderful education centre. I wish to congratulate all the guides and staff for ensuring it continues to attract and inspire visitors from all over Ireland and abroad.”
