Minister of State Kyne has sanctioned a grant of up to €3,638 to Choiste Taispeántas Chois Fharraige, An Spidéal, in order to buy equipment for the exhibition
Seán Kyne T.D., Government Chief Whip and Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands announced today, (26 November), that he has sanctioned a grant of up to €3,638 or 80% of the total cost, whichever is lesser, to Choiste Taispeántas Chois Fharraige in order to buy audio equipment and gates for the exhibition which takes place in an Spidéal, i gCo. na Gaillimhe, each year.
“I am very happy to sanction this grant too this active committee” said Minister of State Kyne. “This exhibition has been established since 1979 and has been going from strength to strength every year. It provides the local people with a wonderful opportunity to come together and present their craft, gardening and baking skills not to mention the pet shows which are held throughout the day. All of the events are conducted through the medium of Irish and this robust committee is certainly helping to promote the language in the area for many years.”
This grant has been sanctioned in accordance with the pledge given in the Community and Language Supports Programme under act 2.22 of the Government’s Action Plan 2018-2022 for the Irish language which was launched in June 2018.
