Minister of State Kyne launches New Raidió Rí-Rá Studios
At a special event today in Dublin the Government Chief Whip and the Minister of State for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands, Seán Kyne T.D. launched two new Raidió Rí-Rá studios. The Minister of State Kyne visited the Raidió Rí-Rá studio in Dublin today as part of a special broadcast celebrating the opening of two new studios in Cork and in Galway.
The new studios are located in the Gael Taca office in Cork and in Áras na nGael in Galway, where Raidió Rí-Rá will share the space with Raidió na dTreabh and TechSpace. As part of the celebration Raidió Rí-Rá will broadcast on FM from Galway, Cork, Limerick, and Dublin from 11 – 15 of November.
Launching the two studios, Minister of State Seán Kyne TD said,
“I am delighted to launch this week of Raidió Rí-Rá broadcasts on FM and to also officially open the new studios in Cork and in Galway. It’s clear that the station is growing stronger year after year and this is a great step forward for the studio. I am pleased that my Department was able to provide continuous funding for Raidió Rí-Rá. We understand that Raidio Rí-Rá provides an excellent Irish Language radio service to young people and it also gives a lot of people opportunities to gain experience in broadcasting.
Niamh Ní Chróinin, the Manager of Raidió Rí-Rá said: “We are delighted that with the launch of the two new studios, and with the support of Gael Taca in Cork and Tech Space and Raidió na dTreabh in Galway, we are able up to provide extra services to the public, particularity to young people. Not only does this enable us to provide an excellent service to the public but it also enables us to provide opportunities to students and to other people in different cities to gain experience in working in media.”
