Minister of State Kyne sanctions €36,496 grant for GAA’s Comhairle na Mumhan
Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Seán Kyne T.D., has announced that he has sanctioned an allowance of €36,496 for the GAA’s Comhairle na Mumhan. An Chomhairle provides Gaeltacht schools in Munster with football and hurling instructors. The grant covers 66.66% of the cost of the scheme and the instruction will be conducted in Irish. This grant will enable the GAA to implement the scheme in Gaeltacht schools in Munster – Kerry, Cork and Waterford – until the end of the 2016/17 school year.
Announcing the grant, the Minister of State said that he is very pleased to be in a position to provide this assistance to Comhairle na Mumhan. “Comhairle na Mumhan is doing valuable work under this scheme for some years now, providing a service in Irish to the Gaeltacht schools”, said the Minister of State.
