Minister of State McHugh welcomes announcement of jobs for Gaoth Dobhair

Minister of State for Gaeltacht Affairs, Joe McHugh T.D., today (19/04/16) welcomed the news that the digital marketing company SLM Connect, based in Manchester, is to expand its operations and establish a new business at Páirc Ghnó Ghaoth Dobhair in Na Doirí Beaga, Co. Donegal. Údarás na Gaeltachta is providing support for this project that will create 125 new jobs.

Minister of State McHugh said that SLM’s investment will have a huge economic impact on the Donegal Gaeltacht. “This decision by SLM to establish a new business in Gaoth Dobhair is an expression of confidence in the area and local workers. I commend Údarás na Gaeltachta for enticing this investment to the Donegal Gaeltacht.  This is evidence of the way in which the west of Ireland, and particularly the Gaeltacht, can benefit from employment creation through foreign direct investment.”

“This announcement is very important to the Gaoth Dobhair area,” Minister of State McHugh said, “as it sends a message that the area is open for business and that there are wonderful investment opportunities here for multinational companies thanks to our young, flexible and highly-trained workforce.”
