Minister of State with Special Responsibility for the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Islands and Government Chief Whip, Seán Kyne has today 26 April 2019 announced that a Language Plan for the Area of South Donegal has been approved by him in accordance with the language planning process. He also announced that an annual allowance of up to €100,000 will be made available under the process to support the implementation of the plan and to enable Lár Chomhairle Paróiste Ghleann Cholm Cille Teo, who compiled the plan, to employ a Language Planning Officer.

Moreover, it gives it the opportunity to influence more than ever the position of the Irish language in their area. I congratulate the lead organisation on its work over the years in order to have the plan approved.
