Storm Deirdre – Public Notice from National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS)

Due to the Status Orange wind warning which in place for many parts of the country, members of the public are requested to refrain from visiting Killarney National Park this afternoon.

Dangerous wind speeds will pose a risk of falling branches and wind-blown debris.

While other National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) locations may remain open, the NPWS would urge members of the public to take all necessary precautions for the duration of the weather warning.

Further updates will be provided as the weather forecast becomes clearer and/or as Met Éireann weather advisory notices are updated – see www.meteireann.ie for weather warning and updates – it may be necessary for assessments may take place at some locations tomorrow (Sunday).
